As many of you may know, Julius & James relocated from Toronto to Hamilton in early 2015, and we’re so glad we did! Hamilton is a city that many people are unfamiliar with, as they just drive by it on the QEW. The only thing they see are the steel mills. Yes, Hamilton is an industrial city, but it’s also rapidly evolving. Steel is no longer the top employer. Healthcare is. Hamilton is home to all kinds of great cultural festivals such as Supercrawl, and features lots of new restaurants, cafés and shops. Hamilton is full of easily accessible urban trails and nature preserves such as Cootes Paradise and Dundas Peak. And not least of all, we have great neighbourhoods full of mature trees and stately century homes which can be purchased for the price of a small condo in Toronto. One recent study showed that while most Canadian urban real estate markets were overvalued, Hamilton’s real estate market was not. These were just some of the reasons we decided to move here.

So when RE/MAX Escarpment Realty’s Greg Guhbin approached us to create a promotional video, we intuitively understood the story and how to tell it, as we’re living it.

We used a combination of live action video and time lapse photography to tell the story of Hamilton, and showcase the rapidly evolving, fast paced city that you need to visit.

We also want to give a big warm hug and thanks to everyone at Vintage Coffee, our local café in east central Hamilton. Everyone was so helpful, and very kindly opened up their space to us several times. We couldn’t have done it without you!
