As promised, we’re sharing Julius’ lovely photos of Miguel and Brittney on the blog today, in one of our favourite summertime engagement shoot locations, Toronto Island.

Engagement shoots are a great way for couples to get comfortable with their photographer, and with being in front of the camera. For us, as documentary photographers, we tend to focus on more candid and environmental shots, which allows the couple to really communicate with and focus on each other, without worrying about posing for the camera too much. We love working into the sunset hour to capture images with that golden light behind our subjects, and we love shooting outside in nature. But what really drives us is discovering the story, and telling the story. For more on Brittney and Miguel’s story, see their Save the Date video we published here on the blog yesterday.

Brittney and Miguel will wed on July 9th next year. We’ll be there!
