If you are planning a Niagara or vineyard wedding, you should study this epic day we captured for Samantha and Tyler at the Mike Weir Winery.

Bride and groom and their families gathered at Jordan Manor, an historic bed and breakfast in the middle of Ontario’s wine country near St. Catherines. It was a sunny, hot late summer day, and the Manor’s classic, antique rooms were filled with gorgeous, golden light which made it the perfect setting for capturing beautiful images of the preparations and the details.

The Manor features lovely grounds and wooded areas surrounding a picturesque pond which was the setting for our couples photos and first look. We love to shoot couples surrounded by natural beauty, and the Manor is a great location for these kinds of shots. It was so hot that day that Samantha, the bride almost fainted at the end of our couples shoot. Perhaps to show us all the kind of great husband he was about to become, Tyler scooped her up off her feet, and carried her across the fields to the air-conditioned interior of The Manor. Nicely played.

Likewise, the ceremony and reception venue, Mike Weir Winery, boasts acres of grape vines on a gently sloping hill and a modern event space with floor to ceiling glass windows, allowing you to take in the view of the surrounding countryside.

Sam, our bride had this to say. “Ty and I had been together just short of 9 years before he proposed…a long time coming! He had tried planning a few different romantic proposals but after I called him out on not having a ring (after he fake proposed to me!) he had to ask that night. So distracting me to look for Halloween costumes in bed, he came to the side and asked me to marry him – I replied you’re kidding right and out popped the ring! Our wedding day was full of unexpected surprises but wonderful none the less. Wedding cake got swapped out for peach pies and it was one of the hottest days of the year! Everyone involved in the wedding helped in pulling together last minute decisions and were troopers with the heat – especially Tyler carrying me to air conditioning! The winery was a beautiful setting and everything came together perfectly. Could not have asked for a better day!”

Congrats to Sam and Tyler! It was a true pleasure to capture your big day and your engagement photos.
